WOMEN'S GOLF

Torres, Perez

nab SEC honors

A pair of Gators — Maria Torres and Marta Perez — picked up SEC Women’s Golfer of the Week honors Wednesday. Torres garnered SEC Women’s Golfer of the Week accolades, while Perez was named the Women’s Freshman Golfer of the Week.

Torres won the individual title at last week's SunTrust Gator Invitational, while Perez finished fourth. The Gators won the event again.

The Gators will be back in action Monday-Tuesday in Kiawah Island, S.C., for the Briar’s Creek Invitational where Florida will look to defend its win a season ago.
