In its 18th year overall of hosting an NCAA Regional and 12th under coach Tim Walton, Florida will host the double-elimination event this Friday through Sunday.

Gators earn top national seed, will host Gainesville Regional

No. 1 Florida received the No. 1 national seed for the NCAA Softball Tournament on Sunday night and will host a regional for the 15th consecutive season at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium this weekend.



Joining Florida in the Gainesville Regional will be Oklahoma State (35-23), FIU (45-13), Florida A&M (23-30-1). The Gators will play FAMU at 2:30 p.m. Friday. The double-elimination event runs through Sunday.



As the top overall seed, the Gators will have the opportunity to host a Super Regional should the team prevail out of the Gainesville Regional. The team would then face the winner out of the Tuscaloosa Regional.

Winner of Gainesville Regional vs. Winner of Tuscaloosa Regional
